As an officer in the SIR guild, I can tell you it is a VERY difficult task to know who our active players are.  I mean I can not be on 24/7 and really have no means in which to see if any of our 30 members are ever on at all.

I would like to see the Dev's incorporate into the guild tab a "view recent member activity"  to show any activity in the guild in the past 24 hours or so, not just the last 3 people who donated etc.  This would make weeding those out who simply aren't around at all out of the guild to make room for people who would actually contribute and play.

Anyone else with me on this?

Yup, same problem here.  Here's some 30 second ideas:

Ez: average playtime/time unit.  Multiple easy to process time units who give a good figure:  playtime/this week - playtime/month - playtime/year

Best: average playtime per week graph  with an algorithm whcih gives an activity rating to each member.

Other: Yield to Guild/time (by playing and/or donating)

Add me in GAR: LOST-TALE   , also if you want to join guild ACE.
